Ikeita Cantu Hinojosa, L, prepares to cast her vote at precinct 302 n McLean, Virginia. In a RollingStone article by Ari Berman, the hot topic on whether or not voter identification is constitutional or not is discussed.  In my personal opinion I don't see anything wrong with this. With IDs costing from $5-35 dollars depending on which state you live in, acquiring one should not be a problem.
"More than 10 percent of U.S. citizens lack such
identification, and the numbers are even higher among constituencies that
traditionally lean Democratic – including 18 percent of young voters and
25 percent of African-Americans" With this many people (roughly 300000 people) if these people did not acquire a legal ID, the outcome of an election could be affected. Voter fraud (using a different name to vote, sometimes multiple times) accounts for many votes each election, with more than
24 million voter registrations invalid, yet they still remain on the rolls nation-wide. Voter fraud is the main reason to institute voter id.
Many arguments say that this is a law to stop poor people form voting, but for less than the price to take a family of four to eat at a fast food restaurant, an ID can be purchased. Just abstaining from eating out one night a week and soon that would be enough for an entire family to get IDs. Another argument against voter ID is that some people don’t drive and don’t have one, and it is too hard to get one. All you have to do is go to the DMV and bring your social security card, school ID or birth certificate and pay the fee.
To buy alcohol or tobacco you must show an ID, so why is it considered unconstitutional to show ID for voting? The only people against voter ID laws are those that exploit them. Voter ID also keeps non-citizens from voting, which makes the election truer.

Voter ID laws will only affect those too lazy to acquire an ID, so most people will not be affected by these laws very much. Those who do chose to be lazy, also chose to forfeit their right to vote.

BOok Bucket List

The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan

For the past two years I have been reading this series and now that it is winding down to a close i feel sad. I chose this book because I just can not wait to finish this series. Rick Riordan has created a multi-book series that rivals that of Harry Potter.

Fang by James Patterson
This is another series i have wanted to have some resolution to. I have been looking for this book for about two years now and now that i have finely found it I am very excited to read this book. I really enjoy the way this author writes his books, they are very descriptive and easy to get a mental picture.

Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer

I have had lots of friends refer me to this book. I never thought i would read this to be honest. But a very good friend of mine deferred me to it so i had to read it. I dont know what to expect from this series but i hope it is as good as people say.

Gregor the Overlander Series by Suzanne Collins

After reading the hunger games I started looking for another book by this author and i found this series. An online review I found stated that, "Its marvelous setting and glorious characters rival that of the Hunger Games!" Now if a book rivals the Hunger Games it has to be good.

Fallen Angles by Walter Dean Myers

From the cover of the book i could tell it is a Vietnam war book. I have read Vietnam war books before, and have immensely enjoyed each one. I would have to say my favorite Vietnam war book would have to be Cracker, and I can only hope this book is as good.

Tunnels by Roderick Gordon

I don't know any thing about this book but the cover looks very interesting. Also it seems to have a good deal of four to five star reviews on Amazon.com. Speculating from the cover mabey the book is about buried treasure or some secrete under ground society.

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

I chose this book because it is considered an american classic. My dad also read this book recently and said it was one of his favorite books he has ever read.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night Time by Mark Haddon

The same friend who referred me to twilight also told me to check this book out when i get a chance.
He said it was one of the most interesting stories and had many good descriptive details.

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor

This book had one the most interesting book cover I have ever seen. With robots on the front it intersted me that the book was a revamp of Alice in WonderLand

Titanic Forgiveness

In the case of the Titanic i would forgive the captain because he had no idea that there was an ice-berg ahead, even though they knew they were ahead. I would not forgive any of the crew who got on life boats and left with them half full. I would forgive the people on the boats who didn't go back for the drowning people because they were probably almost frozen to death and couldn't think properly

A Soldiers Forgiveness

In the case of the soldier who followed his commanders orders and kills an unarmed mother and child, the soldier committed a terrible crime. He or she, did not use there moral senses or code of ethics in the situation. Even if the commander said  he/she was going to kill me if I didn't kill the mother and child. I would think of my family. I would rather be dead or in jail than alive with the burden of knowing I killed innocent people.

Of Mice And Men Evaluation

As John Steinbeck said in his Nobel prize acceptance speech, good literature is where a characters faults and greatness are shown. Steinbeck shows this in his novel Of Mice And Men, where his character George and Curley's wife.
All Literature shows at least one characters faults and greatness. In most books the author just shows the characters problems and them fixing the problem. Steinbeck goes beyond that. In his book all of his characters show there many faults and there moments of greatness. Steinbeck states in his Nobel acceptance speech "... writers who does not passionitly believe in the perffectibility of man has no dedication or membership in literature.
One character from Of Mice And Men is George. George is a ranch hand that travels with his mentaly  handicapped friend Lennie. Lennie, causes one of George's greatest fault, his short temper. Throughout the book George gradually overcame his temper and came to love Lennie.
Another character from Of Mice And Men is Curley's wife. She had many faults. She always wanted attention, but Curley could not give her enough. So she snuck around on the ranch. she tried to seduce Lennie which ultimatly led to her demise. George had told Lennie to stay away from her but Curley's wife, deprived of attention, could not. But in her death she gained more attention than she ever had.
As stated in the first paragraph John Steinbeck thought that the best literature was expressed by showing a characters faults and greatnesses. And his novel dose this with every character.

Frozen Air

As I walked through the stark white landscape I could feel the frozen air pushing through my many layers of coats, as I slowly trudged through the field. I could see the bushes and trees weighed down by the ice crystals clinging to there limbs. I could here birds chirping away, looking for food in what to them seems to be a white wasteland. As I raised my head, I opened my mouth to taste the gently falling snow flakes falling down from the sky. My favorite part of snow is the smell. The smell of frozen air, so fresh and cool it should be used as medicine!

9/11 paragraph

After reading the letter from Osama Bin Laden I had many questions. The most intresting question i had was why do the terrorist pray so much before they attack. In the reading it said, "Pray for victory three times befor you foot touches the plane." I think they are just tring to find a excuse for doing this, if they think that "allah" told them to do this it will make them more confident in there actions.
